Aloo Paratha

Aloo Paratha :

This blog is exclusively for Vegetarian food lovers .. :) We start with simple and healthy Indian recipes typically Maharashtrian/North karnataka style which are easy to cook and healthy to eat.

First will start with Parathas.. If we are bored with chapati bhaji, we can go for parathas which are tasty to eat and which generally kids love. The first paratha which comes to our mind when we hear the word parath ais 'Aloo paratha'


 Ingredients:
1.  2 cups of wheat flour
2.  Salt according to taste
3.  2 table spoon of oil
4.  Small piece of ginger
5.  Coriander
6.  1 finely chopped onion
7.  1 tea spoon of lemon juice

Procedure:
1. First take a 2 cups of wheat flour add  a pinch of salt, oil then water, prepare a soft dough and keep it aside.
2. Take 5-6 green chillies, ginger, garlic, coriander and grind it. Add little bit of jeera and ajwan if needed in the mixture before grinding.
3. Take 3-4 boiled  potatoes, peel the skin off, and smash them.
4. Take oil in a pan add finely chopped onions fry it untill it becomes transparent,  then add green chilly paste and sprinkle 1 tea spoon of lemon to kadhai.
5. Then add peeled potatoes to the kadhai. mix well and keep it aside.
6. Take small balls of dough and spread it to fill the potato mixture prepared.
7. Apply little bit of oil and fill little amount of potato mixture into the dough ball and seal it so that potato does not come out.
8. Spread it using lathan and apply flour on both the sides to make it of chapathi size.
9. Heat the tawa and place paratha over it and heat on moderate flame, apply ghee or oil over both sides. Heat it until it becomes golden brown color.
10. The Garam paratha is ready to eat now, serve it with curd or pickle.

Substitute:
You can substitute green chillies with red chilli powder and add it while cooking in the pan.
You can also skip using onions, using onions will give you a better taste.
