This is a Indian dessert made out of vermicelli. My main focus on this blog is to include recipes for babies/kids as much possible and generally include the one that I usually give for my lil one. Since I dint get time to try any new things, today I thought of preparing kheer for Vihaan rather than giving him rice. Kheer with dry fruits! and to my surprise he had it on his own :) In the usual semiya kheer I did grounded the roasted ground nuts and added.
Ingredients:
Steps:
Ingredients:
Semiya/Vermicelli | 1 cup |
Ghee | 1 table spoon |
Milk | 1 glass |
Water | ¼ glass |
Almonds | 5-6 |
Cashew nuts | 5-6 |
Salt | pinch of |
Cardamom powder | Pinch of |
Dry grapes | 7-8 |
Sugar | 5 tea spoon |
Steps:
- Dry roast all the dry fruits like cashew nuts, almonds and dry grapes. You can also add half a tea spoon of ghee and roast.
- Grind almonds and cashew nuts to powder in a grinder.
- Roast vermicelli in a tea spoon of ghee until golden brown in color.
- In a vessel add milk, sugar and water together and heat until it gets boiled. To this add vermicelli, powdered dry fruits, cardamom powder and a pinch of salt.
- Add roasted dry grapes to this.
- Mix well and cover the vessel with a lid. Allow it to get cooked for 3-4 mins, by then vermicelli absorbs almost all the milk.
- Again add little amount of milk and a spoon of ghee.
Notes:
You can also add the other dry fruits that you have, or cherries / strawberries.
